The biggest inland delta in the world, covering over 17,000km² in a labyrinth of lagoons, lakes and hidden channels that meander through the Kalahari sands; lush, indigenous forests and fertile floodplains, which host a wide variety of game and more than 400 species of birds.

99km north-east of Maun; often described as one of the most beautiful wildlife reserves in Africa; combines mopane woodland and acacia forests, floodplains and lagoons; this game-rich reserve contains within its boundaries approx. 20% of the Okavango Delta; game viewing is at its peak Jul-Oct.

Richest rock art site in southern Africa with over 4,000 catalogued paintings; sacred site of Stone Age San people, making the area alive with legends; one of the most historically significant rock art sites in the world charting at least 100,000 years of human habitation; far removed and different in style from other rock art sites; 4x4 only.

One of the greatest concentrations of game found on the African continent makes for an unforgettable safari experience; 4 distinct eco-systems incl. Serondela plains; Savuti Marsh, Linyati Swamps and hot, dry hinterland in between; major feature is the large elephant populations; 4x4 only; camping grounds available.

Makgadikgadi Pans National Park & Nxai Pan National Park:

Makgadikgadi Salt Pans

Between Maun and Nata, these sister parks form one vast area covering 7,500km²; the flat, salt-baked bed of a once massive super-lake that turns into a colourful spectacle in rainy season (mid-Nov to Apr/May) when hundreds of thousands of waterbirds flock to the area; 4x4 only; apart from pans, see Baines Baobabs.

Central Kalahari Game Reserve Second largest game reserve in the world, covering 52,800km²; sand dunes to flat bushveld offering game viewing, which is best Dec-Apr; camping at Deception Valley and other sites.
